Meet Catrina
Catrina Butler is a candidate for Southfield City Council. She is a twenty-plus-year resident, a wife, mother, and grandmother. Although not a career politician, she is a neighbor, a community member, and someone who loves Southfield. What Catrina can bring is determination, resilience, and a fresh perspective. Catrina holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration, both from Walsh College in Troy, MI.
Catrina has spent over twenty-five years in Property Management, including two communities right here in Southfield. During that time, she witnessed firsthand the importance of creating a sense of community among residents. She organized community events where neighbors could come together and strengthen the bonds that make Southfield so special. Whether, it was a holiday celebration, a simple meet-and-greet, or a neighborhood gathering, Catrina witnessed how residents felt more connected, supported, and proud of their community once they had the opportunity to come together, have their voices heard and amplified, and feel the support of leaders. Those experiences showed Catrina the power of unity and inspired her to take that passion to the next level. Just as Catrina worked in Property Management to bring residents together in the communities she managed, she is committed to building a stronger, more vibrant Southfield for all of us.
As a member of City Council, my promise will be to simply listen, understand, and act on the needs of our community. I believe leadership works best when it comes from the heart and is guided by the voices of the people it serves.
